monterey medical was built as a pragmatic solution to a speculative medical office building. the concept utilizes a central atrium space, taking the place of the typical common corridors in similar facilities. the building is then dissected resulting in three parts; the building core/heart, the atrium/public realm, and the offices/treatment rooms, resulting in a more efficient and dramatic experience.
